Nordlys
2. Norway is the best place to see them
For the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights you need to be under the Auroral Oval.
All of northern Norway sits under the auroral oval, meaning it’s one of the best places in the world for hunting the lights. Travelling under the auroral oval above the Arctic Circle offers more of a chance of seeing the spectacle.
All along the coast, small cities and towns offer tailor-made, unforgettable excursions and activities under the Northern Lights. Here are our tips:

Dr John Mason has been working with Hurtigruten since 2007, and this will be his eleventh consecutive winter season on our Astronomy Voyage.
